2010 Photo Competition
"Seeing the world from horseback"
Winner
Cheryl Myers claimed first prize with her image of locals playing Ulak Tartysh in Kyrgyzstan. The prize was a Canon EOS 1000D SLR camera but Cheryl decided to take her prize in hoof miles and so will receive £500 off a future In The Saddle holiday.
"Black and white images evoke so much atmosphere for the viewer. This
picture really shows what the experience is about when travelling to
the far reaches of the world by horse back. You can see, and
experience true cultural diversity, along with traditions that have
been left undisturbed for hundreds of years. When I saw this picture
I felt that I was eavesdropping on the lives of another culture,
almost felt like turning a page in the National Geographic magazine.
True quality!
