What visitors said about the 2010 Riding Holiday Show
Really enjoyed the photos, it was wonderful!
Hope this will be
continued. Easy to get to and very nice lay-out. Lots of cafes
nearby
too! Juie, Herts
It was great to see so many different holidays there altogether in
the same place. also lovely to meet up with people from the places
we've already visited and catch up on all the news. We travelled
down
from Leicester by train, hopped on the tube and found the venue very
quickly and easily. the map provided as part of the ticket was very
clear. There was no need for me to have carried our compact but
heavy
London A-Z with me all day!! Anne, Leics
I attending the Mary King and the equine photographer's (Simon?)
talks. Mary was very entertaining (delighted to hear she didn't come
from a wealthy horsey family but worked her way 'up'!) and Simon's
photographs were fantastic. Handy for me as I come in on the
mainline
from Hemel to Euston and then I take the Northern Line down to
Charing X and walk along The Strand. Gill, Herts
As someone who very rarely goes to London it was an experience. The
main reason I went was to meet Jane Williams from Huechahue again. I
had a fantastic holiday with her 2 years ago and hope to go there
again. Tricia, Oxon
Great to talk to some guides I have been riding with and also great
to meet some new guides. Sonja, London
It is very helpful, you can soon get an idea of who you will get on
with. It is also really good to me guides you have ridden with
before and fellow guests. I like being near the theatres as we
usually go to a show after visiting the riding exhibition.
Amanda, Glos
We are new to riding holidays and it definitely gave us a better
idea
of what would be suitable for us eg actually talking to Horizon made
it clear that would be a very good choice. It was also useful to
talk to one of the In the Saddle staff who was able to comment on a
suitable ranch choice and compare that option with Horizon. It would
have been useful to have an In the Saddle table where someone could
have steered us to suitable tables.Obviously very convenient for
those in Central London like us and convenient for those travelling
into London. Lorraine, London
It is great to meet each other and it is great to know all of you
and
to be able to explain to the visitors about our holiday. Bravo for
the organisation which was very professional. Anne van Aubel,
France
It was wonderful to meet the actual tour guides and owners of the
tours. It gave me a much better idea of what to expect and a clearer
'picture' of what the actual tour would encompass. It was also an
opportunity to talk to a few people that already had experience with
your company and remarked that "In the Saddle" was" very efficient
and took care of it's clients". As a person who has had the
opportunity to travel extensively, and live in 2 countries, I have
been lucky enough to have many adventures. However as a horse lover
for years, I am truly looking forward to my first horse riding
safari
through "In the Saddle" which I hope to take this summer. I felt
that
the talks were a great way of getting another more in-depth picture
of what each tour offered, especially with the visual images
provided. The location was great. Very convenient for tube, train,
or
bus. Sharyn, Berks
Good venue easy to get to from the train, good directions on the map
you sent out. Linda Potts
Enjoyed the photo display. Meraney, Surrey
It was excellent, there were two rides that I had looked at in the
brochure, but wasn't that taken with but after speaking to the reps
I
was hooked! (Equador and Namibia!). Good location, easy to get to.
Shelagh, Surrey
The exhibitors we spoke to were very informative and clearly
passionate about what they do. We were particularly interested in
the
Mongolia rides, and we found Jan and (forgotten her name!) to be
very
helpful indeed. Emily
Having all the talks was excellent with Mary King as an addedd
bonus!
Far too much to do/take in in one day, I wanted to go to more talks
and some of the ones clashed that I was interested in! However....
incentive to come again next time. Great to get such an insight.
Wanted to go to all the talks!!! Have chosen my next holiday already
from the stand and the talk. Sam, Surrey
I think there was an excellent mix of exhibitors and several who I
really wanted to meet and find out more information from so was glad
to meet them as well as catching up with ones I knew. I loved Mary
King's talk - would have like it to last longer! Location was easy
for me as my train gets into Waterloo and it's only a 15 minute walk
from there. Very good cafe attached to the hotel also! Polly,
Windlesham
It was interesting to hear the different styles of the
guides/operators. Jane, Herts
The best thing was the people who run the rides: they were really
great. Susan, Sussex
Enjoyed seeing photos and being able to talk about rides interested
in. Was good to be able to see the photography competition photos.
The talks were all very interesting that I attended particularly
about training a safari horse and Mary King was very inspirational.
Louise, Knebworth
I thought it was about right - the size was right - made for good
atmosphere and with the side rooms right by the main room, it was
all
very easy. Very accessible by transport too.
Just not enough time to attend all the talks I'd have liked to!
Lots of interesting stuff and often a talk I wanted to attend would
clash with another talk I wanted to attend! Especially enjoyed Mary
King's talk of course. What an interesting woman. Rosemary,
Middlesex
It was busy but, bar crowds round some stands, it never seemed
cramped. From a writer's point of view, I found a great willingness
to help among the exhibitors. It also proved a unique chance to meet
up with some old friends. John, Kent
The two main highlights for me were Mary King and Simon Palmer.
Margaret, Wilts
All well laid out, with plenty of room to move and look at the
stands. I think your organisation was just right, well done.
Felicity, Bristol
Really good as some of the people where so passionate about their
rides and horses it encouraged you too look at different rides. The
photo competition was a great idea, to see guest pictures. Tina,
Sussex
It was really helpful to discuss our interests and level of
experience with exhibitors so we could identify those able to help
us
and spend more time with them. We certainly have two strong
possibilities we will follow up. Andy, Milton Keynes
We were only interested in rides in Europe, but we have several
ideas
for our next trip. It was really good to meet those involved in the
holidays. Jillian, Rickmansworth
Location perfect- very convenient and lots
of space.
Nicola - Ride Kenya
I got a lot out of speaking to people who
had been on rides I was
considering - not just the ITS staff although they were also helpful
- and I did wonder if there was a way to make a bit more of this.
Barbara, Hitchin
Excellent way to meet the guides and people who run the holidays and
get indepth inforamtion as well as presentations of the area one is
interested in visiting. Trisha, Maidenhead
Always great to meet the guys who have a passion for their
businesses. Anna Faure
I like it....... It all worked really well. Photo area to view if
you
needed to wait for a guide to be avalable. Lots of guides and enough
space to walk around. Hard to improve on.
The guides are great....visitors good...BUT without doubt the very
best resource/source of information is your own staff. They are
really great. What people really want to know is will a holiday suit
THEM. Guides will always struggle with this but as your staff really
get to know us they can offer the BEST advice. This may sound funny
but for me meeting your staff (for me it is Chris) is always the
best
and most valuable part of the event. Never forget this as it is the
foundation for the shows success. Thanks to everyone for a great and
informative day. Bob, Devon
From an exhibitors perspective it was fantastic. I felt that central
london on a weekend was a good option since everyone could make it.
Kate - Horizon, South Africa
Very enjoyable, but so many sumptious holidays on offer I am more
confused than ever about my next choice! Clemency, Kent
Photographic exhibition was a great idea. It provided a great focal
point and inspiration to visitors and made exhibitors feel part of
the team. Lynne, Cheshire
Great to meet Abbie and put a name to a face. She had been so
helpful in arranging our trip to Peru and got some good tips from
her
re our next trips. Kathryn, Derbyshire
Well my friend said it was really good & has been enthusing about
all sorts of different rides! Suze, Sussex
It was really nice to talk to people whose rides I have been on in
the past (and might go on again in the future). Vivienne,
Hampshire
The show was far better than the one I went to a couple of years ago
- so obviously improvements have been made! Jane, Portsmouth
